Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how ChoreChampions Inc. collects, uses, discloses, and protects your personal information. 2. Information We Collect
Information You Provide: We collect information you provide directly to us, such as when you create an account (email address, display name, birthdate), update your profile, or communicate with us.
Photos & Media: We collect photos submitted as proof of chore completion. These are processed by our automated verification systems.
Device, IP & Usage Data (Cookies): We automatically collect certain technical information when you visit our app, including your IP address and browser type. We record and store unique combinations of your user account ID and the IP addresses used to access the site. We use strictly necessary cookies only — to maintain your login session, support WebAuthn passkeys, and protect against fraud and abuse. We do not use these cookies for advertising or analytics, we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and we do not share this data with third parties for tracking purposes.
3. Use of Information, AI Processing & Peer Verification
We use your information to operate and improve our services, process chore completions, facilitate leaderboards, and communicate with you.
Important Notice Regarding Photos, AI, and Peer Verification:
Photos uploaded for verification are securely processed to confirm chore completion. Please be aware that uploaded images are processed by our automated AI verification system for visual safety checks, and are subsequently shown to and manually verified by other human users to reach consensus.
These images are strictly not used to train AI models by us or our third-party service providers.
IP Address Retention Policy: Stored IP address information associated with user accounts is retained securely. This information will only be accessed and used in the event that a crime has been committed, for the sole purpose of assisting law enforcement investigations.
4. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
ChoreChampions Inc. is committed to protecting the privacy of children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 without verifiable parental consent.
Approved Social Boundaries for Children: To guarantee a completely safe environment, child users (with parents) are subject to strict isolation rules: they are only allowed to see and verify images uploaded by their approved friends and family members.
Parental Rights: Parents maintain full control over their child's data. Directly from the profile page, parents can review, download, or delete all data associated with their child's account. Parents may revoke their consent for further data collection at any time by deleting the child's profile.
5. Your Rights & "Do Not Sell"
Depending on your location, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal data. You can easily exercise your right to data portability (downloading your data) and the right to deletion directly from your account profile page.
We do not sell your personal information, nor do we sell the personal information of minors.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
We only keep your data for as long as it is necessary to provide our services:
- Photos: All chore verification photos are permanently deleted immediately after they are verified or rejected.
- Account Data: If you choose to delete your account, all associated account information is completely purged from our active databases at the time of deletion.
Note on Law Enforcement and Child Safety: While ChoreChampions Inc. enforces a strict policy of deleting chore verification images upon completion of review, we reserve the right—and may be legally obligated under federal law—to indefinitely retain and disclose any content, user account data, IP addresses, and metadata to law enforcement or authorized child protection agencies (such as Cybertip.ca) if content violating child safety or criminal laws is detected.
